Our Mission

About TKO

Founded: July 1, 2007

Number of Employees: 3

Our Focus

Technical Knock Out specializes in the reclamation of electronics devices, with the exception of televisions.  This includes (but not limited to) computers and their components, copiers, scanners, telephones, cell phones, and  battery back-ups, as well as household items such as microwaves, washers, dryers etc.  "We recycle anything that plugs in!"

In addition to the above mentioned, we also accept all forms of scrap metal, including filing cabinets and shelving.

How We Reclaim Materials

  • Computer Mother Boards - The mother boards (and all circuitry are removed and then shipped, via truck loads, to reputable companies where the ferous and non-ferous materials are separated.  The boards are then shredded and the shredded material is used to make new circuit boards.
  • Computer Hard Drives - The computer hard drives are placed in a special machine, specifically designed for the destruction of such devices.  This ensures that any data, that may have remained on the hard drives is unretrievable.

Who We Are

Stuart Arrington, Co-Owner

Stuart began his career with the Alabama Power Company. In 1996 he joined a good friend and opened an on-site shredding company, Power Shred. The company grew rapidly over the next 8 years becoming Shred First.  Shred First was later purchased by a national shredding firm. Stuart Arrington

On July 1, 2007, Stuart became co-owner of Technical Knock Out. TKO has grown in the last 21/2 years recycling a total of 311 tons of metals, 18 tons of wire & over 450 tons of components. A total of 779 tons saved from the landfill!

Elise Warren, Co-Owner

Elise began her career as a medical/surgical sales representative covering the southeast. After many years, and three buy outs, Elise began a new sales career in the on-site shredding business working with Stuart. Elise Warren

With the implementation of such laws as HIPAA, FACTA and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (which applies to both companies and individuals), Elise was often questioned about electronic security (similar to paper shredding needs.) As a result of those questions, a machine designed to crush hard drives was acquired and as a result, Technical Knock Out was born.

As a TKO co-owner, Elise loves teaching people about the need to “reduce, recycle, & re-use” as well as the importance of protecting one's identity through proper, eco-friendly, waste disposal.
